What is sip?

SIP trunking is Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and streaming media service based on the Session Initiation Protocol by which Internet telephony service providers (ITSPs) deliver telephone services and unified communications to customers equipped with SIP-based private branch exchange (IP-PBX) and Unified Communications facilities.   Most Unified Communications software applications provide voice, video, and other streaming media applications such as desktop sharing, web conferencing, and shared whiteboard.

One of the most significant advantages of SIP trunking is its ability to combine data, voice and video in a single line, eliminating the need for separate physical media for each mode. The result is reduced overall cost and enhanced reliability for multimedia services.

Why should I choose sip?

In order to take advantage of SIP trunking, an enterprise must have a PBX that connects to all internal end users, an Internet telephony service provider (ITSP) and a gateway that serves as the interface between the PBX and the ITSP.

grow your business quickly

SIP’s number one advantage is that it is completely scalable. Depending on what your business requires, you can scale your telephony up or down with ease. You can instantaneously add extra SIP trunks, and increase your capacity to make and receive inbound and outbound calls at the same time.

This is very important to those businesses who are expecting growth, and those that experience seasonally-related busy periods, when beefing up telephone resources to cope with increased orders, sales and enquirers is greatly beneficial. SIP Trunking allows you to run your business in the way that you would like, with no restrictions or barriers to growth.

Become a truly flexible business

SIP is an extremely versatile form of telephony. You can easily manipulate outbound numbers, so if you are moving office and wish to keep your existing telephone numbers this is ideal. SIP allows for the setting up of multiple geographic numbers, routed to the same location. You can set up Non-Geographic numbering easily, including a series of

Non-Geographic numbers for those companies wishing to have a city based presence. Calls from a mobile phone under a specific number, regardless of the user’s location, are also possible.
