The common challenge of network security and redundancy coupled with the challenging task of empowering all employees, remote and local, with features that support timely and consistent communication was the top area of focus for this MA based corporation. Vive recommended and implemented a Dell Server running VMWare, Fortinet Firewalls, Extreme Switching and Barracuda Data Storage devices to address the Data network needs. This was all backed up in the Vive COLO to ensure a safe and efficient data backup and disaster recovery topology.

To address an aging email server Vive recommend Office 365 and supported the email migration to the cloud. To address an aging Mitel voice network the client chose Avaya IP Office Server Edition. The Avaya IPO SE was installed on the customers’ local VMWare and on Vive’s VMware in the COLO to provide the failover during potential provider and/or hardware issues and access to a full suite of collaboration tools.

Utilizing Vive SIP trunks locally at the customer site reduced cost, increased system functionality and provided automatic failover to Vive COLO in the case of an internet outage. The client was able to utilize the IP Office collaboration feature set for their remote and local employees which provided Chat, Video, Email and Call Control from their PC’s.

At the core the Avaya Server Edition Select running on the customers’ VMWare locally and in a data center provided the redundancy they needed to ensure 100% uptime. Removing traditional forms of dial tone with Vive SIP to provide an easy way to add and remove trunks during the seasonal changes proved to be one of the key factors in the decision.

The project showed an ROI of less than 2 years which was due in part to a detailed pre-sale Vive consultation and evaluation of the clients existing solutions and costs. The entire solution will be supported directly by Vive under their Managed Services platform.
